New Team Members

The Lab is excited to announce that three new employees have joined our team, in addition to our new Co-Director Katie Dafforn, who joined earlier this year. Liana Greenberg-Nielsen has joined the team as the Lab’s Education and Engagement Program Coordinator; Jasmine Perez has joined the team as the Lab’s Summer Intern; and Daria Healey has returned to the team as the Summer Institute Fellow!
Liana Greenberg-Nielsen
Liana Greenberg-Nielsen is the Education and Engagement Program Coordinator for the Lab. She is responsible for developing and facilitating education experiences of the Lab, as well as nurturing new and existing partnerships. Prior to her role at the Lab, she managed the Canopy Crew Program for Green Cambridge, as well as interned for the City of Cambridge’s Community Development Department. She is a graduate of Northeastern University’s Three Seas Program, and received both her MS and BS from Northeastern. She also worked as a lab tech for the Byrnes Lab sampling intertidal habitats on the Boston Harbor Islands.
Jasmine Perez
Jasmine is this year’s Summer Education and Programs Intern for the Lab! She will be assisting the team in developing and implementing community activities around Boston Harbor and designing outreach materials. Jasmine is a rising senior at the University of Vermont, where she serves as President of the BIPOC Environmental Collective and as a Student Ambassador for FirstGen@UVM. She is also a Watershed Educator for Lake Champlain Sea Grant.
Daria Healey
Daria Healey has been supporting the planning and implementation of the Summer Teacher Institute since 2023, in addition to other summer programming. She is a PhD candidate at Northeastern University in the Human Behavior and Sustainability Sciences at Northeastern University. She received her Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Northeastern University in 2023 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology from Boston College. Her work is centered in social-ecological systems thinking, investigating the influence of place-based learning on the development of human-nature relationships in environmental education.
