Jack Murray is Vice President for Partnerships and Operations at Boston Harbor Now with career experience in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. Previous to his current role, he served as Commissioner of The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).
Jack has held several senior level policy positions in state, local, and federal government including work for the Executive Office of the White House and as a Special Assistant to Governor Deval Patrick in Massachusetts.
Between 1999 and 2001, he served as Deputy Administrator at the Research and Special Programs Administration at the US Department of Transportation. From 1998 to 1999 he served as White House Liaison and Special Assistant to US Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater. His previous experience includes work as an environmental consultant with the BSC Group on the Central Artery Project, as a Special Assistant to Mayor Flynn in Boston and as an Assistant Director at the City of Boston’s Environment Department.
He holds a BS in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston and an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
