Teaching Climate Change: Education for Action

See All Events

Join the Stone Living Lab and Mystic River Watershed Association to learn about our climate change education programs using place-based education, art, and participatory science!

Teaching about climate change can be an overwhelming prospect for informal educators and classroom teachers alike. The Stone Living Lab, National Parks of Boston, and Mystic River Watershed Association all work on climate change education and outreach through a number of programs. We will share best practices, lessons learned, and resources around our different programs, including the Coastal Resilience Principles, Summer Teacher Institute, and Wicked Hot Mystic!

Please also join CREW for a virtual panel discussion on how rising sea levels will affect Boston and how the city can be more prepared for a future of rising seas. The panel will include climate scientists (including from Stone Living Lab) from the Boston area and representatives of a Boston environmental justice organization will join us, and will be moderated by Barbara Moran, correspondent on WBUR’s environmental team!
