New Education Resources!

As the weather cools, are you looking for fun and crafty indoor activities? The Stone Living Lab Education Team is always thinking about new ways to introduce the topic of climate change to a variety of audiences in unique ways. We’re excited to share our new Climate Collage activity guide, developed by 2025 intern Jasmine Perez. This activity offers a creative outlet for thinking about and processing our changing climate. Climate research is full of vital information which directly affects our future. However, this critical knowledge often remains locked behind complex terminology and financial paywalls, creating a barrier for many. The Climate Collage activity breaks down those barriers by acknowledging that everyone has a valuable perspective and the power to engage with this information creatively. Through the creation of collages, we encourage creative thinking and visual storytelling about the climate.
This activity is an opportunity to use up old magazines or photographs and source materials from local thrift stores and used craft shops. We offer some guiding questions to think about while you’re crafting and hope they provide inspiration for your designs. We’re also creating a digital gallery of Climate Collages! To add yours to the collection send over a photo or scan to education@stonelivinglab.org. We can’t wait to see what you create!
If you’re looking to continue your conversation, check out our Climate Conversation Cards! This deck of conversation starters facilitates meaningful conversation between friends and family about climate change. Organized by theme, the cards have questions big and small – there are no wrong answers! We have them available to download and print, as well as a digital version. Both can be found on our Activities & Data Sheets page.
We hope you enjoy these new activities, and take them as an opportunity to slow down and learn together. To see all of our at-home Climate Cart activities click here.
