Measuring Weather Conditions

The instruments on the meteorological (Met) station collect in real-time air temperature and relative humidity (RH), barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, gust speed, precipitation (also from snow unfrozen with the heated collector), Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR), and total solar radiation. This information will be used to better understand weather conditions at critical times, such as during a storm event or leading up to the erosion of a bluff or a break in a barrier beach.
