Kristin Uiterwyk has more than 15 years of professional experience working in ocean and coastal policy and planning. As Director of the Urban Harbors Institute at UMass Boston, she leads a team of researchers and students to conduct applied research on topics pertaining to climate change and resilience, working waterfronts, seafood systems, coastal planning, natural resource management, economic development, and marine debris.
She previously served as Associate Director of the Stone Living Lab, a role in which she primarily coordinated the many partners of the Lab to help advance Lab research, education, and participatory science initiatives.
Kristin earned her undergraduate degree from Boston College and a masters of Arts in Marine Affairs from the University of Rhode Island.
