Sarah White is the Director of Climate Resilience for the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). She is focused on developing and implementing an agency framework while ensuring that climate change considerations are incorporated into agency initiatives and projects. Advances current research and policy initiatives on climate change including effective mitigation and adaptation practices, nature-based and other design solutions and best practices for the Commonwealth’s 450,000 acres of parks, forests, water supply protection lands, beaches, lakes and ponds, cultural resources, and a diverse array of recreational infrastructure.

She holds an undergraduate degree in Geography and Regional Planning with a minor in Environmental Studies from Westfield State College as well as a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Framingham State College. Sarah has nearly 15 years of experience working for the Commonwealth on hazard risk management and climate change adaptation.
