USACE Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study now open for public comment
The City of Boston is partnering with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on a massive coastal flood protection plan to protect our neighborhoods, economy, and infrastructure from sea level rise. Now, after a decade of planning and community engagement, a draft report of the Boston Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study is officially open for public comment.
The Stone Living Lab and Boston Harbor Now, one of the co-leads in the Lab, have been partnering with the City and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers leading up to the release of this draft.
Share your feedback on the proposed infrastructure projects and their locations. This is a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and your voice is crucial.

- Locations of proposed coastal infrastructure projects
- Projected costs
- Possible economic, environmental, and cultural impacts of projects
Get involved:
- Read the USACE draft report or the City of Boston’s plan summary. The City’s plan summary can be translated to various languages using the Google Translate option at the top of the Boston.gov webpage.
- Submit your feedback by Wednesday, September 18, 2026 at 5:00pm EST
- Attend a virtual “How-to” webinar on August 6 at 10 AM for tips on sharing feedback on the draft report. If you cannot attend, a recording will be published on the project website.
