UMass Boston

Graduate Researcher

Clare Dana is a master’s student at UMASS Boston’s School for the Environment, working under the guidance of Dr. Katherine Dafforn. She is interested in studying the larval distribution and recruitment of oysters around Boston Harbor in hopes of providing data that will aid in future oyster restoration for urban marine environments. Clare received a B.S. in marine science and environmental studies through Stony Brook University, where she was involved with shellfish and macroalgae research. She completed a term of service with AmeriCorps in South Carolina focused on community-based coastal restoration, and most recently concluded an internship with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute conducting research on mangrove stress and mortality.
